A visit to Galena's Turner Hall could include an encounter with Charles Sheerer or his lonely widow, Emma.  Charles Sheerer was a life long resident of Galena who would serve as mayor and later manager of Turner Hall.  Charles suffered a heart attack climbing the front steps, and was carried inside where he died with his wife Emma by his side.

Visitors often recount seeing an old man walking through the hall or out on the lawn.  Others report hearing footsteps echo through the empty building.  Still others have encountered a woman in a formal gown, presumably the ghost of Charles' widow looking for her husband in the last place she would see him alive.
